2015 Photoshoot Round-Up & Recap

I've never done one of these year-end round-up posts, but decided to whip one up for this year. This was a year of only a few, but memorable shoots!

I didn't do as many shoots this year as I've done in previous years due to being in Japan since March. I did come back to Canada for a few weeks and had a few more opportunities to do a couple more shoots during that time. This year marks the first time I did more than 1 photoshoot outside of conventions, 8 to be exact. I did almost 30 cosplay shoots this year, a number that pales in comparison with 2014 which had 100+.

I'd like to thank the following cosplayers who have shot with me this year (features in the photos above):

I regret not being able to shoot with more people this year, especially with my regulars, I know you miss me and the feeling is mutual! : )

My current plan is to remain in Japan for the foreseeable future, likely until 2017 or 2018. For the time being I'll be spending my time visiting conventions and taking cosplay photos at conventions in Japan.

Some photos from the only North American convention (Katsucon) I attended in 2015.

The other one being Comiket 88, which took place at Tokyo Big Sight center in Japan. I will be attending Comiket 89 which begins on December 29th. Look forward to that post in early January.

I recently released my book Years of Cosplay Photography, it's an insight into my progress as a cosplay photographer over 5 years, I wanted to share my experience of that journey. I wanted fit as much as I could into the 150 pages, but sadly couldn't even fit half my shoots.

I've started working on a second book, this one being a tutorial. I'm not sure when it'll be done, but I'm continue slugging away on it.

Thanks for following my adventure and I hope it gives you an insight into my current cosplay photography status. If you do plan on visiting Japan, give me a shout and we can meet and do a shoot, lots of good areas in Tokyo and surrounding area!

Happy Holidays! : )
